Meet Our Horses

Aadam
Aadam
Aadam: A 25-year-old Appendix Quarter Horse has returned to Equest after taking a brief sabbatical. Adam’s gift is helping able-bodied students learn to ride. His patient and honest ways are what make him so endearing.

Beauty
Beauty
Beauty: Is a 24-year-old miniature pinto mare. She is always there to visit with students before and after lessons. Beauty enjoys being pampered during her grooming sessions. Beauty also acts as Equest’s ambassador in Equest's new Mini-Visitation Program.

Dakota
Dakota
Dakota: Is a 13-year-old Registered Quarter Horse that was donated to Equest by Tina Gagne in early 2007. Dakota was a western competition and trail horse. His small, 15 hand size, and laid-back disposition, make him just the right fit for our young riders learning independence.

Dee
Dee
Dee: Is a 15-year-old Appendix Quarter Horse donated to Equest by the Richardson Family in the fall of 2006. Dee spent many years as an Eventing horse, which combines competition in stadium jumping, cross-country jumping and dressage.

Keely
Keely
Keely: A 19-year-old Thoroughbred/Clydesdale X that stands almost 17 hands tall. Riders really enjoy the view atop Keely. She loves her job and works hard to make her riders look good and feel proud! Keely was Equest’s 2006 Horse of the Year.

Kenny
Kennebego's Knight
Kenny: Is a 19-year-old Standardbred gelding. Kenny is part of the woodwork at Equest, having lived on the farm since 1999. He loves his job and all the people he works with. An old pro with hippotherapy lessons, Kenny is looking forward to our therapeutic driving program this summer.

Mabel
Mabel
Mabel: Is a 10-year-old Morgan-Belgian mare and no stranger to Spring Creek Farm. Mabel expanded her horizons to become a therapeutic riding lesson horse in 2006. Since then she has become a key member of the 4-legged staff. Mabel also enjoys jumping and dressage on the weekends.

Misty
Misty
Misty: Misty is a 23-year-old Registered Arab/Welsh pony standing 13.3 hands high. Misty was donated by the Cheney family, and comes to us with a great deal of training and experience in Pony Club, Eventing, Foxhunting, Driving and Vaulting. Misty is currently fully sponsored by the William J.J. Gordon Foundation. She is a beloved member of Equest's team.

Onyx
Onyx
Onyx: A 14-year-old Percheron/Morgan mare, Onyx earned “Rookie Horse of the Year” in 2005. She is always ready for anything that is asked of her. She loves to be groomed especially when you finish with a treat of saltine crackers! Tom and Kate Chappell sponsor Onyx’s care.

Toffee
Toffee
Toffee: Is a 16-year-old Registered Halflinger gelding. Toffee was donated to Equest by the Gallo family in 2006, and has a great deal of driving experience for our therapeutic driving program. He loves to visit over the fence, and as the lead horse in his group, he keeps his pasture mates in line.

Zack
Zack
Zack: Zack: A 16-year-old Fjord gelding is our “couch” for the hippotherapy program. Zack enjoys being groomed and taking riders for a trot around the ring. The Miley Foundation generously sponsors Zach. When not working, Zach is most often at the farthest corners of his pasture, trying to avoid capture!

Just as our students develop lasting and meaningful relationships with their equine partners, Equest wants to extend the joy of that horse and human bond to its donors. If you are interested in adopting a therapy horse, please contact us at 207-985-0374.
